Sheffield’s fashionistas were wowed after a feast of fashion, dance and heart-rending stories at a major catwalk show to raise money for a local women’s charity.

Captivating – The Heart of Fashion, sponsored by Autosave, raised money for City Hearts, a residential programme for young women dealing with life controlling issues, such as drug and alcohol addictions, self harm, depression, eating disorders and unplanned pregnancy.

The show, at the Sheffield City Hall, involved some of the UK and Sheffield’s biggest fashion retailers including Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Yes Orange, Each to Their Own, Urban Thread, Roc & Doll plus top local stylist Natasha Lyons and the city’s hair supremo Conrad Blandford.

During the event, three City Hearts’ graduates - Sarah Jones, Emma Geddes and Deb Noble - told their emotional true life stories, before holding their heads up high as they walked down the catwalk as new women.

Students from Sheffield Hallam University’s fashion design course treated the audience to a range of flamboyant designs, including a dissolvable wedding dress which showcased the next generation of up and coming designers. click here for full story
